I thought this was a really good ad for Apple’s still-new service going into the holidays.

It’s been out for about 3 months so far and I’ve been quite impressed with the number of new titles coming out for it every few weeks. I don’t play as many games on it as I used to when it was new, but I’m keeping my subscription for now just to try out these new titles.

I know this may not ever happen, but it really would be nice to be able to pay a flat fee to get some of these games to own forever outside the subscription. Grindstone is a great example, as I want to be able to play that game forever, but I need to pay $5/month to get access to it forever. If there are other games on Apple Arcade I want to play, that’s cool, but if it was all I wanted, it kinda sucks I can’t pay even $20 or something to get it permanently in my library. I get the business reasons for it, but as a consumer I wish I felt I could get off the subscription train without losing the one or two games I really love.
