# Futura Now Released

A year ago, Monotype released Helvetica Now, an updated version of Helvetica that was more tuned to modern use cases. It kept the character of Helvetica while making it a more attractive and accessible font in digital formats. I bought it and love it.

Now Monotype is back with [Futura Now](https://www.monotype.com/fonts/futura-now?ref=birchtree.me), where they basically did the same thing but for Futura. They also greatly expanded the styles and included variable fonts (hello, `font-weight: 528`) and a bunch of decorative versions that make this Futura more flexible than the font has ever been before.

This is a premium font, so the pricing is pretty high, but if this fits your needs, I think you’re really going to like it. I’ve been previewing a limited set of the new styles for about a month and they’re fantastic! I can’t wait to actually start sharing things using it, so keep your eyes peeled.
