Kanye West is an astounding artist. His work is varied, thoughtful, and equal parts accessible and stand-offish. He once again defied expectations with his new single, *Only One*, which is about as big a departure as you could expect from 2013's abrasive *Yeezus*. The song has been out for a few weeks, but [the video is here](http://www.kanyewest.com/?ref=birchtree.me) this week, and is kind of weird.

[Birdman](https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/birdman/id928582124?at=10l8rH&ref=birchtree.me) and [Big Hero 6](https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/big-hero-6/id929423754?at=10l8rH&ref=birchtree.me) got early digital releases today. I really want to see each of these.

[Typed](https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/typed-a-better-blogging-platform?ref=birchtree.me) is a new blogging platform from the guys and girls at RealMac. They're crowdfunding the project and it does look pretty good. This reminds me a lot of [Ghost](https://ghost.org/?ref=birchtree.me) that was crowdfunded in 2013 and looked to accomplish the same thing. Ghost was too early in development when it launched and lost me. I would expect Typed to ship as a proper 1.0.
