Televisons are no longer the screen of choice for kids, according to [Advertising Age](http://adage.com/article/media/study-9-10-americans-binge-viewers/299332/?ref=birchtree.me).

> Mobile devices are so popular with kids that nearly half of the 800 parents quizzed by Miner & Co. reported that they confiscate their kids' tablets when they act up and make them watch TV instead, thereby fostering a sort of Pavlovian response that equates TV with punishment.

The fact that TV is used as a punishment these days simply does not compute in my 90s kid mind. TV was **the thing** to do as a kid. We could talk about how TV is a pretty poor punishment, but it's important to recognize the way the world is moving. Mobile over desktop. YouTube over television.
