This is especially true with infectious diseases, as risk changes with time and varies across different people, and individual-level risk needs to be weighed with population-level risk.

[As I wrote last week](https://birchtree.me/blog/the-new-normal/), my feelings on what we should be doing now to live in a post-Covid world is changing, but I think it's important to note that this is not me deciding I was wrong all this time and that we should have gone mask-free and and been licking each others' faces this whole time. Things change, and how we behave as a society changes with the events of the day.

March 2022 is very different to November 2021, and it's completely different from March 2020.
