The Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer: To serve his country, Donald Trump should leave the race

The debate served as a reminder of what another four years of Trump would look like. More lies, grievance, narcissism, and hate. Supporters say they like Trump because he says whatever he thinks. But he mainly spews raw sewage.

Trump attacks the military. He denigrates the Justice Department and judges. He belittles the FBI and the CIA. He picks fights with allies and cozies up to dictators.

And:

Yes, Biden had a horrible night. He’s 81 and not as sharp as he used to be. But Biden on his worst day remains lightyears better than Trump on his best.

I’m not going to sit here and tell you Biden is one of the greatest American presidents, but I will say these past 4 years have been far better than the 4 that came before. I don’t even need to tell you I think Donald Trump would be a worse president, I know it because I’ve seen what it’s like with him and it’s not good.

Donald Trump lies, he’s a convicted felon, and he’s full of hatred towards anyone not completely loyal to him. He encourages our worst instincts and wants to divide us. And I can’t believe we need to remind anyone of this, but he literally tried to overturn a fair democratic election. He was a blight on our country for 4 years, and we can’t let him get 4 more.
