The above tweet hit my timeline this morning and it reminded me of conversations I've had around Apple Watch pricing (god, what has my life become!?!?). Some people have cited the "9 hours it takes to make one of the link bands" Apple is advertising as a reason that the bands will not be in the $80-199 range, and will be far more premium. I don't doubt Apple's claim, and they can price the bands whatever they think the market will bear.

However, I think this "9 hours" claim is the type of thing that jewelry-makers throw around to make their shit sound more impressive. Remember the modest jelly bean when hearing someone say their wares take forever to build.
