We are all too different from each other and it is not sustainable for every piece of artwork or every product to reach 100% market saturation . Appealing to a global palate is a surefire way to make the blandest art.

Yes, yes, yes! Add this to my general annoyance in people looking at a Rotten Tomatoes number and thinking about that as an objective measure of art. Financial results for art can be interesting at times, but it depresses me to no end when anyone leans on financial success or failure as “proof” that something was “good” or “bad.”

If I may, it’s depressing as fuck to see people directly link financial success (or more often failure) with the artistic value of the art.
