I have been writing BirchTree for the past 5 years (good god, has it been that long!?!), and have never had aspirations to strike it rich doing it. That would be great, of course, but I honestly do it because I enjoy it. This definitely helped in the early days of the site when my daily traffic could usually be counted on my fingers. I actually had a tool set up early on that emailed me when my site got 10 hits in a day. That feels so quaint now :)

Since I started the site in 2010, the site has grown, and it's all thanks to you, loyal readers. The feedback I get from you is awesome! You're an incredibly kind group of people who have helped me with typos and fact checking my work when it's needed. Even just hearing "nice article" gives me an endorphin rush and makes me want keep it up. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
