Dylan Byers: Is Apple's Eddy Cue About to Get NFL's Sunday Ticket? (via MacRumors)

The race for the Ticket has therefore come down to Apple and Amazon, and while nothing has been signed or agreed to, I have been given ample reason to believe that Apple is the most likely winner of the sweepstakes—and not merely because I was told that Apple’s Tim Cook and Eddy Cue met with Goodell in Sun Valley.

I tried Sunday Ticket a few years ago and it was a miserable experience. The content I wanted was technically there, but their apps were abysmal and the cost was astronomical. There needs to be something better.

Last week saw the announcement of something called NFL Plus coming this fall, which I have my eye on as well, but given the incentives of everyone involved, I think Apple would be the best company for me to get my sports streams from. In terms of fair cost, quality software, and a goodbye to blackouts, I just don't think anyone would currently do a better job than them right now.
