More Comcast Bullshit

Seriously, Comcast? After reading headlines about the PlayStation 4 finally getting an HBO Go app, I turned on my console, downloaded the app, and was promptly greeted by an activation screen. Comcast was mysteriously missing from the long, long list of cable providers. Oh, it must be an error, I thought, but nope. Apparently HBO and Comcast were not able to agree on terms for some stupid reason.

It raises the question, why does Comcast care what devices with which I watch HBO? I can already watch on my Apple TV, Chromecast, phone, and tablet in addition to my cable box. Hell, my old PlayStation 3 had a fully functioning HBO app that I used a couple years ago. So what's the deal, Comcast?

I want to hold out hope for this stand-alone HBO Now service, but that looks like it may be limited to Apple devices at first.

Maybe I'm being greedy, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think I could watch HBO from any HBO app.
