Apple's Continued March to USB-C Everything

A site called 52audio is reporting a few things about AirPods Pro 2, including that they will have USB-C for charging rather than Lightning. Assuming this rumor is true:

  1. Lightning is annoying when all other new tech has USB-C, and Apple's move to bring USB-C to all of their products is a good thing.
  2. As Apple gets more things onto USB-C, it makes the regulations around the world trying to force them to do this seem ever more superfluous.
  3. This makes it more likely that iPhones are going to get USB-C sooner rather than later, in my opinion.
  4. Lt's clear that iPhones only have Lightning today because of momentum and the temporary pain Apple would experience by a change. Any argument that Lightning is there because it's better overall rings hollow in 2022.

Needless to say, I'm all for this move and hope this rumor is true.
