How Many Great Android-exclusive Apps Are There?

Chris Lacy makes some of my favorite Android apps. Action Launcher was by far my favorite launcher and Link Bubble was an awesome alternative take on a mobile browser. I like the guy.

Tonight he tweeted this:

I can only speak for myself, but after spending half of 2014 with Android, I cam back to iOS because of the apps. I certainly wouldn’t say that iOS only has a few exclusive apps these days. Just looking at my first few home screens, these apps jump out at me as things I either missed on Android or thought the Android version was worse:

  • Drafts
  • Day One
  • Reeder
  • Audible
  • Tweetbot
  • OmniFocus
  • 1Password
  • Workflow
  • Transmit
  • Editorial
  • Dark Sky
  • Overcast
  • Screens
  • Fantastical
  • Due
  • Calcbot
  • Mail Pilot

I don’t have an Android device in front of me to see what Android apps I’m missing, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I’ll definitely agree that Android has gotten much better about matching iOS in having many top apps, but there just aren’t that many exclusive apps that I think iOS users are missing out on.

Is there an Android-exlusive app you love that I’m missing? Let me know, I’d love to be corrected!
