Matt Gemmell - Windows Phone: A Guide for iPhone Users

I take my iPhone everywhere I go, and for the most part, it’s a satisfying device to use. […] It’s a little (dare I say it) boring.

Some of that feeling is just because of familiarity; I’ve never used a non-Apple smartphone for more than a few minutes. There are other options out there, and I decided to explore some of them. In this article, I’m going to talk about Microsoft’s Windows Phone.

I’m only partway through this very long piece (which is predictably great), but it’s very interesting. I have been eyeing the cheap-but-decent Nokia Lumia 530 at my local Target for a while. If I wasn’t planning on buying an Apple Watch next month, I might pick one up just to play with for a while.

I also really love the syntax highlighting Matt uses to help guide reader through the jargon of Windows Phone. Very clever, and not something I’ve seen done this well online. Kudos!
