Realmac have released Typed, a new minimal markdown editor for Mac OS X.

Typed is the stunning new writing app for the Mac, and the first that improves your focus so you can create great content. Typed makes writing for the web incredibly easy, and its Zen Mode features relaxing soundtracks that help you concentrate.

The app looks nice (very similar to Writer Pro, actually), but isn't something I'm dropping $20 on today. It's a little weird to criticize a minimal writing app for lacking features, but I just don't see anything here that would pull me away from using Byword on my Mac to write.

It's good to remind myself that a new text editor isn't going to make me a better writer, so for now I'd rather have the $20.
