Attacking the Core of America

I was going to link to a specific quote in this article, Donald Trump is Attacking the Very Core of America, but there was simply too much and I couldn’t pick just one bit, just go read it.

This also gives me a reason to share something I’ve seen in my area, and I’m wondering if other people are seeing it around them too. There are a few people who proudly fly American flags, Betsy Ross flags, “don’t tread on me” flags, and the like on their homes/trucks/whatever. I don’t have any beef with this (although it is basically always a clear sign we’re going to have very different political views), but what I’ve seen in the last few months is that those flags have been replaced by Trump 2020 flags.

It’s a small sample size, to be sure, but there has been a definite trend in dropping the American flag and replacing it with the Trump flag, and I frankly find this disturbing and disgusting.

Pair this with people who fly the blue lives matter flag instead of the American flag and it really just bothers me how this group feels more and more like a cult; an angry one at that.

I’m posting this on the morning of the 2020 election, and I don’t know what the results are going to be. The numbers indicate Biden will win the White House, Democrats will take the Senate, and they’ll retain the House as well. We’re all a little gun-shy from 2016, but I hope that is the America I wake up to tomorrow.

Everyone is entitled to their political opinion, and by no means am I saying these folks are not allowed to flay whatever flags they want. I just hope we blow them out of the water today.
