Day One Sync

Day One Sync was announced today as a third option for syncing your Day One entries. Day One Sync is in addition to the iCloud and Dropbox the app has had for years.

I personally use the iCloud syncing and it works wonderfully. I have never had an issue, and sync is fast. However, I do like the idea of adopting their syncing option for a couple reasons:

  1. Web-based Day One - I don’t know how much I would use this, but it would be nice to be able to record entries from any device in the world.
  2. API and IFTTT integration - This one I would use all the time. I have tried to use Slogger to automatically log things to Day One, but it never works as well as I would hope[1]. IFTTT is a fantastic service, and I would find so many uses for this.

As of writing this post, neither the iPhone or Mac app has been updated to enable this feature. I think I’m going to move over as soon as the update rolls out.

  1. I’m sure it’s just a matter of fiddling around a little more.  ↩
