Futura Now Released

A year ago, Monotype released Helvetica Now, an updated version of Helvetica that was more tuned to modern use cases. It kept the character of Helvetica while making it a more attractive and accessible font in digital formats. I bought it and love it.

Now Monotype is back with Futura Now, where they basically did the same thing but for Futura. They also greatly expanded the styles and included variable fonts (hello, font-weight: 528) and a bunch of decorative versions that make this Futura more flexible than the font has ever been before.

This is a premium font, so the pricing is pretty high, but if this fits your needs, I think you’re really going to like it. I’ve been previewing a limited set of the new styles for about a month and they’re fantastic! I can’t wait to actually start sharing things using it, so keep your eyes peeled.
