The Journal That One Publishes Studies with Boring Conclusions

The Journal That One Publishes Studies with Boring Conclusions

New academic journal only publishes 'unsurprising' research rejected by others | CBC Radio

We believe that a lot of the other journals are biased in the other direction — towards publishing attractive, catchy, strong, statistically significant results. We kind of want to fill the void and publish results that are the opposite of that —unsurprising, weaker, statistically insignificant, not conclusive and so on.

I love this idea, and I love the name, The Series of Unsurprising Results in Economics (or SURE 😂). You can check it out now, although there is only one study there so far. I’ve set up recurring reminders to look back in on this throughout the next few months to see what else they add.
