Today is a Good Day

Nearly 4 years ago, Donald Trump promised that “American carnage” was going to end “today” in his inaugural address. Sitting here at the end of his term, the best way I can describe his what has transpired under his leadership is indeed, American carnage.

I won't go through the list because you already know it, but if we look at the vindictiveness of politics today, the complete disinterest in the truth, and the devastation, measured both by the economy and lives lost from our complete mismanagement of this coronavirus, I simply don't see how you could describe it any other way.

Add to this the grinding down of political norms and outright facist behavior in his darkest moments, and we have what I believe will go down in history as one of the absolute worst presidencies in American history.

So while Joe Biden wasn’t my first choice in the Democratic primaries this year, I think this is a massively good change for the United States of America. The next 4 years are surely going to be full on conspiracy theories and political anger as well, but I believe America is back on the right path.

But today is a good day, so I’m going to celebrate.
