Voting for…

A new poll out this week shows 64% of those who plan on voting in the Democratic primary in 2024 would prefer someone other than Joe Biden to be on the ticket. I find these polls utterly fascinating. Here's some data on a theoretical Biden/Trump rematch in 2024:

  • The more education you have, the more likely you are to vote Biden.
  • Half of men would vote Trump, and a little over a third would vote Biden. It's exactly the opposite for women.
  • The only age bracket Trump wins is the 45-64 range, but there are so many voters in that range.
  • 18-29 year olds are 4-10x more likely to say they'd vote for neither of them than any other age range.

Anyway, I would say throw me in with the 64% of Democratic primary voters who would prefer someone other than Biden. I'd prefer someone more effective at delivering the things that we elect them to do, but let's be real, I'll vote for Biden if he's on the ticket again because the alternative is transcendently terrible.
