Well this sure does look familiar!

Google has added app shortcuts to the home screen on the new Pixel Launcher that ships with the brand new Pixel phone.

I'm happy to see Google adopt these shortcuts, as they are genuinely useful for some apps on iOS. This is an area that Apple has taken the lead through, as Google has replicated 3D Touch's shortcuts from iOS 9 while Apple has move further with iOS 10. Below is what the Photos app's quick actions look like, which is a little more elaborate than what Google's offering in this first release.
