Apple Stops Selling Bose, Sonos, Logitech Speakers and Headphones (SONO, LOGI) - Bloomberg

The moves come as Apple develops multiple new products to expand on its audio strategy. The first Apple-branded over-ear headphones could be announced as early as this year, Bloomberg has reported. The company has also been working on a smaller version of its HomePod smart speaker.

No article I think I've ever written has gotten me so many “you don't understand Apple,” responses and this piece from November 2017 where I proposed Apple add a HomePod Mini to their lineup. I was told by many that if anything, the next HomePod product would be a more expensive HomePod because it was all about quality, and Apple didn’t care about anything down market.

Since then, Apple has dropped the price of the HomePod $50 and there are strong rumors of a smaller HomePod and not a peep about a more expensive one in the near future. I don’t usually eat soup, but I’m gearing up to enjoy a lot of claim chowder later this month if this pans out.

Oh, and I’ll be first in line to get a mini or two of these things.
